Men prefer bright colours whilst women prefer soft colours.

Analogous-These are colours that have matching hues. They are hard to use well because they can overpower each other.

I am a very tidy and organised individual, I like things to be clean and have to have plans clearly laid out. I’m not a fan of waiting and prefer to stay busy so when I have nothing to do, ill download music.

I like listening to music with several and complex beats but which mainly create an image in my head. As i am studying media in college, I prefer narrative based videos but also songs which allow you to do this-fast cuts quick editing & Songs with relatively high pitch voices and harmonies make it all the better.

Dance music is generally produced for the use by DJs, sometimes by the DJ themselves, who then performs a live-set of their own music arrangements, or plays tracks from different artists in a rhythmic pattern in their DJ mix

Electronic dance music that originated in the United States and United Kingdom during the late 1970s.

First video - Giorgio Moroder and vocalist Donna Summer on the song "I Feel Love", a groundbreaking dance/discothèque hit with no traditional instruments.

the genre became essential in the evolution of techno, and, to a lesser but important degree, house music.

Artists like Daft Punk, Jus†ice or Calvin Harris represent only a small portion of those artists, coming mostly from a house music and electro-funk

By 1988, house music had exploded in the UK and Germany with acid house becoming increasingly popular.

late 1990s.[12] At that time, a wave of electronic music bands from the UK, including The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and Underworld, had been prematurely associated with an "American electronica revolution."

In 2009, French house musician David Guetta began to gain prominence in mainstream pop music after the 2009 release of "When Love Takes Over"

The increased prominence of EDM was also fueled by concerts and festivals, such as Electric Daisy Carnival

Target Audience –

Codes and Conventions –
The main code and convention of electronic music is that electronic instruments are used in the song such as keyboard used by Metronomy. The codes and conventions of the music videos include bright colours, often narrative videos related to the lyrics, strobe lighting, quick editing and occasionally fun upbeat atmosphere.

Bright colours, strange videos which don’t make sense, strobe lighting effects and bright colours

Sometimes more indie genre with scruffy looks and casual clothes with a down to earth atmosphere and clips of day-to-day life

Location relevant to music such as clubs or parties. Occasionally narrative stories.

Narrative videos typically clarify the meaning of the song and it’s lyrics.
